Moon Wisdom | Movement + Journaling

Are you interested in manifesting with the moon? Join us for a Moon Wisdom - Movement + Journaling session at The Penny.

This outdoor class will be a great way to connect to yourself and other women through Qoya movement, introspection, and sharing. We’ll use journal prompts to explore Libra attributes: Relationship • Drive • Ebullience • Balance. As Libra is a Cardinal Air Sign, we’ll practice a breath and mindfulness meditation to keep our Heart Flame alive and steady. What seeds of intention do you want to plant? The days surrounding the New Moon are a sweet time to say thank you and declare your wishes.

While every gathering is unique to the Moon energies, we utilize practices you may already explore:

📿 Meditation
🔮 Visualization
✍🏼 Journaling
🧘🏻‍♀️ Yoga
💃🏻 Dance
🦋 Nature Consciousness
🪐 Astrology
💎 Mythology
📆 Observation
💌 Soul-Goal Setting

You’ll leave feeling connected, inspired, and empowered to continue these simple, sacred practices at home. Each woman will receive a gift from Nugget of Love Co. to support your Heart Flame meditation practice.

Bring layers, water, and your journal. I sooooo look forward to swirling in your beautiful energy!

Space is limited. Send payment and your email to reserve your spot.

Investment: $48-$58 (Because I want everyone to move + journal, I'm offering this sliding scale. Pay what is best for you. Venmo @leslie-stjohn). Or pay direct HERE.

Qoya

As we come to the tail-end of Taurus season, may we unearth a goldmine of personal potency. We can do that by honoring our own cycles of growth. This virtual Qoya class is an opportunity for you to dance with “Honoring Your Own Cycles of Growth.”

Honor your own pace and dance. Honor your leaps and stalls. Honor the small braveries—having the conversation, booking the trip, listening to your body, saying yes or no or pause. Honor the person you were 20 years ago, or 20 hours ago. Honor your past, all the paths and choices that lead to this now moment of your life. Honor your present...breathe into this body, this relationship, this career, this home, this art. Honor the future you are creating. Above all, honor that these cycles—spin me, tin can ma, lift me, catch me—are yours, yours alone. There’s no need to look like anyone else’s. Read that again. I am. Love, today, honor your own cycles of growth. 🤍

Sliding Scale: $15-$27.

Qoya

This virtual Qoya class is an opportunity for you to dance with your relationship to Radical Self-Love. Is your heart calling you toward something that is deeply rooted, expansive, and “more succulent” than self-esteem or self-acceptance? If so, join us for a journey inspired by the work of poet-activist Sonya Renee Taylor and her book, The Body is Not an Apology, where she explores “how we value and honor our own bodies impacts how we value and honor the bodies of others.” When self-love is “radical,” the impact goes beyond ourselves. We all get freer. But first we start with inquiry beneath the skin; we dance to remember our wise, wild, free selves—robed in Radical Self-Love.

Because I want as many of us as possible to remember their Radical Self-Love, I’m offering a fun GIVEAWAY of Qoya founder Rochelle Scheick’s book, Qoya: A Compass for Navigating an Embodied Life that is Wise, Wild, and Free. To Play: Bring a friend to Qoya on 3/21. I’ll draw the winner at the end of class.

Let’s journal with our pens and our bodies. Community is here. Belonging is now.

Sliding Scale: $15-$27.

This virtual Qoya class is an opportunity for you to explore your relationship to Courage to Change. As we release our grasp on 2020, we can open our hope to what is “untouched and still possible” for the coming year. “Courage is a heart word,” Brene Brown reminds us. The root of the word courage is cor - the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant "To speak one's mind by telling all one's heart." In this class, we’ll journal with our pens and our bodies, dancing with the theme, Courage to Change. All you need is a space to move, good wifi, a pen and journal, and a willing heart.

QOYA is based on the idea that through movement, we remember. We remember, as women, our essence is wise wild and free.

WISE - Calls on the wisdom of yoga
WILD - The creative expression of dance
FREE - The freedom to feel pleasure in our bodies

These essences lead us to feel the sacred pulse of life, which we can express with greater clarity + joy.

Send me your email to reserve your spot, and I will send you the Zoom link 30 minutes before class.

How to Prepare for Qoya -
Create your sacred space: Set out flowers or light incense/candles. Make your space comfortable and yours. You’ll want a yoga mat, journal, layers for comfort, water, and your sweet sacred self.

“If the only prayer you ever said was thank you, that would be enough.” - Meister Eckhart

In this special gathering, we’ll use Qoya to connect to our bodies and a Despacho (Gratitude) ceremony to create balance and harmony in our lives. Enter the holiday season by cultivating Ayni, or right relationship—with yourself, others, and the Earth. We’ll dance with the theme of Wholeness, as a way to start the new year from a solid, hopeful foundation.

DUE to the SLO’s Shelter in Place order and the rising number of Covid cases in our town, I am postponing the December New Moon Gathering for January 16th, pending community health.

Are you a wanderer? Do you seek to discover truth through your lived experience? This Virtual Qoya class is an opportunity for you to explore your relationship with "Free to Roam." Intuitive Astrologer Virginia Rosenberg shares how “Scorpio goes deep within; then Sagittarius is a rubber-band effect and we shoot way out...to go see what we can see.” We are in Sagittarius season. Maybe you feel this call toward expansion. I feel it. During the pandemic, I’ve heard so many say they miss being able to travel. Sitting at my desk, locked to my screen, I’ve craved that woman in me who is free to roam. While we can’t travel to other countries, we can explore the space of our local hiking trails. We can explore the new geography of relationships. We can walk through our own inner landscapes, still expanding in all directions. This life is our journey. Join us this Sunday, and let yourself be Free to Roam. All you need is a space to move, good wifi, a pen and journal, and a willing heart.

QOYA is based on the idea that through movement, we remember. We remember, as women, our essence is wise wild and free.

Join Leslie St. John for a Yoga and Writing workshop to DISCOVER your Sankalpa, that one-pointed resolve—your most muscular, vibrant, authentic intention for your life.

In this workshop, we will use yoga and writing to ground into our bodies, listen to our hearts, and express our soulful desires. Expect to move. Expect words to flow from pen to page. Trust what your body and soul tell you. Express your desires!

Your SANKALPA will help guide your day-to-day decisions--from what feels good to what does not, continually drawing you into alignment with your purpose.  Watch how it strengthens your SELF-TRUST for all other decisions.

YOU WILL LEAVE WITH A RENEWED SENSE OF PURPOSE,
YOUR SANKALPA IN HAND AND HEART.

Course fee: $39 - includes yoga, writing opportunities, and Sankalpa handout.  Some yoga experience encouraged. All levels welcome! Bring water, layers, yoga mat, journal & pen.

YOGA, BUBBLES, & WORD OF THE YEAR

Join us at The Station, SLO’s most unique wine bar, for a soulful Sunday New Year Ritual to discover your Word of the Year.  Through yoga, writing, and sparkling inspiration, you will find a word that acts as your North Star, guiding you choice by choice along your path in the coming year.

We will explore specific movements and journal prompts to help you realize a word that is Affirmative, Motivational, and Creation oriented.

Where New Year’s resolutions and goals may be limiting and leave you feeling deflated when January aspirations fade into mid-March realities, a Word of the Year is an opportunity—something you can pull out of your pocket and use like a compass, pointing you in the direction you want to go.

Expansion. Freedom. Vitality. Truth. Grit. Trust. Grace. Fortitude. What will your word be?

Cost: $50 includes Yoga practice, Journal Prompts, Word of the Year, and sparkling wine flight.
